Virtual Summer fundraiser

There has been a terrific response to the Charlestown Swimming Pool’s €5 ticket fundraising initiative since its launch on the bank holiday Monday, May 3. The local community and the diaspora have rallied around the idea in large numbers and put their hands in their pockets to support a project that remains a crucial part of the town’s recreational and social infrastructure.

Tickets have flown out the door so to speak and the committee are making one last push to reach their target of 1500 tickets sold before the deadline date of the bank holiday weekend of June 5/6/7. Tickets are still available from any member of the committee or by logging onto the committee’s excellent Facebook page which is updated daily.

The committee have also put cards in which lines can be bought into a number of shops in the town and surrounding areas with the Mahon’s Post Office, Centra, Mace and Pat Williams if people would prefer to purchase a line(s) for the chance to win the excellent prizes that are available for anyone wishing to support and buy a ticket.

The local businesses have also stepped up and put their full weight behind the project by sponsoring some very fine prizes which the committee are deeply appreciative of and with just under a week to go until the draw, which takes place on Monday, June 7, there are still lots of tickets available so dig deep and support, as all proceeds go towards the next layer of investment in the pool which we hope will be open for business when the next level of restrictions are lifted which coincidentally is also Monday, June 7.
