Charlestown Swimming Pool closed its gates for the final time on Friday, September 10, with the committee delighted at the support they received from the general public with the weather more than playing its part as this was one of the drier, hotter summers we’ve had in some years.
The facility remains one of the finest in the town and region and was very much in demand throughout the months of June, July, August and early September with large crowds flocking to the venue to use its splendid facility. The water was sparkling with a little injection of heat adding to the lustre and the committee deserve enormous credit for the condition of the facility and the way they had everything in order with the general public, the biggest beneficiaries as good times were had by all who came through the gates.
The pool will re-open in June 2022 with the committee hoping to have a few improvements in place for the new season.
