Congratulations to David Tiernan and his sister Trina Donohue (nee Tiernan) who both competed in and completed the Belfast City Marathon which took place on Sunday, October 3. The duo ran fantastic times with David clocking a remarkable 2.51 (2 hours and 51 minutes) with Trina coming home in a very respectable time of 3.33 (3 hours and 33 minutes) which was a terrific achievement on both their parts as they faced down all the challenges and many undulations the course threw at them.
The pair of them are in marvellous shape with David’s fitness and aerobic levels leading one to believe he could still put in a shift for the Sarsfields in the middle of the park while Trina continues to push back the boundaries and really enjoys getting out there and challenging herself to see how quick she can run over a myriad of distances with the marathon the ultimate test of endurance on the body.
