Shop Local

With the lockdown measures beginning to ease and many fabrics of society making a gradual return to work we must salute the local businesses in the community of Charlestown who played a blinder over the course of the last three months providing those essential services that were and are crucial to our daily lives. All the local businesses did their utmost to make sure everybody’s needs were catered for with home delivery and longer opening hours just two of the many resources they put in place to maintain the crucial link between them and their customers.

Now that society is opening up and people are slowing returning to some form of normality from a work and social perspective, we need to continue to support the local economy and remain steadfast in our loyalty to those in business who kept us supplied throughout the difficult and tough times the lockdown and Covid-19 imposed on all forms of normality as we know it. These businesses provide funding for the many sporting organisations in the community such as the G.A.A and soccer club to mention but two and they have always been first in the queue when it comes to investing and supporting the local teams when finance is required in some shape of form.

The Covid-19 has forced many of us into a re-think on how we do our business and what we want from society and let’s continue to invest locally as by doing so we are keeping businesses open and people in jobs as without a good and vibrant local economy our community would be all the poorer and this would rip the heart out of a town that really stood tall and did its utmost to look after all members vulnerable or otherwise in the last number of months.
