Charlestown Playground which is one of the busier spots in the town received something of an upgrade recently or more to the point the car parking area and mini-walkway around it did, with the whole area being completely renovated with tarmacadam and several parking bays installed.
It has done wonders for the general appearance of an area that has proved hugely popular since it was first erected and put in place close to a decade ago. The playground remains a virtual hive of activity particularly for young families allowing more cars to park in a very safe and controlled environment.
The new layout has proved a real winner with the general public and a lot of credit must go to Councillor Gerry Murray who lobbied the council to tidy up the area and put some structure on it in terms of making it more people friendly. The council duly obliged as they spent several weeks renovating and upgrading the site with the terrific new design.
