Nuala elected Lady Captain of Tubbercurry Golf Club

Congratulations are extended to Nuala O’Donnell-Johnson, The Square, Charlestown, who has been elected the new Lady Captain of Tubbercurry Golf Club following the AGM of Tubbercurry Ladies Golf Club which took place on Wednesday, November 24.

On the night outgoing captain Kathleen Cryan thanked everyone for their help and support during what had been an enjoyable tenure. Kathleen organised two very successful Get Into Golf Schemes which proved very popular and were thoroughly enjoyed by all who participated and got involved. To top off her year as Lady Captain, Kathleen was also named 2021 Golfer of the Year. Kathleen handed over the prestigious Lady Captain’s jacket to the club’s new lady captain Nuala O’Donnell-Johnson and it looked a perfect fit when Nuala slipped it on for the first time.

This is a very venerable award for Nuala and one she’ll revel in as she embraces the challenges the position entails and brings her skill set and personality to a role she will no doubt thrive and flourish in. Nuala wasted no time in naming her committee which included Vice-President Philomena O’Connor and Lady President Bridie Feehily. Nuala is relishing her new role and looks forward to building on the fine platform left by her predecessor Kathleen as well as bringing new and fresh ideas to a position she will no doubt make her own.
