Congratulations and best wishes are extended to Trevor Quinn, Craggagh, Carracastle, son of Nuala and the late Richard Quinn who has been nominated for News Reporter of the Year on the back of a story on homelessness he penned for the Daily Mirror back in early spring which received a lot of media attention and coverage.
It was a superbly written piece which touched the hearts of the nation and caught the eye of the judges which result in Trevor’s nomination for this most prestigious of awards in media and journalism circles. Trevor has been working for the Daily Mirror for the best part of four years with news and current affairs his brief and he has forged quite a reputation for himself in that time writing some hard hitting stories on all matters social and societal.
He faces some tough competition in the category as he is up against all the main broadsheets but it’s quite a coup to get nominated in the first place and an indication of his undoubted talent as a writer and reporter as he continues to forge his way in a tough and unrelenting business where the demand for news and good copy is instant.
Trevor is a past pupil of Scoil Iosa NS, Carracastle and St Nathy’s College, Ballaghdereen. He also has a degree in Communications and Media and followed this up with a first class honours masters in Journalism from NUIG. His many friends congratulate him on this terrific achievement and hopefully he will gain favour with the judges and win the award outright which would be a huge boost to his career and one which would propel him up the ladder in terms of profile and notoriety.
