Community Volunteer Training

Our community has grown hugely over the last few years, which is great for our town and we are delighted to see so many decide to settle in Charlestown. With additional people comes a need for additional help for our clubs, associations and community groups. We are aware that a lot of groups are in need of more volunteers and that the recruitment of these volunteers is not an easy task. The main reasons that prevent people from volunteering is – a lack of confidence to do the role/job, not knowing what is involved or the time required, etc.

To help alleviate these concerns, Charlestown & Districts Development Association will hold an:

Introductory Community Volunteer Training Evening on Monday, 4th December in the Arts Centre from 7pm – 8pm.

This training will involve local volunteers from local clubs/community groups giving an insight into why they volunteer, discuss the main roles in club/association/groups, what these roles involve, time required, etc.

We are asking each club/association/community group to send people to this training and from the evening, we hope to be able to fill roles/jobs on committees and build a volunteer group that are willing and happy to help in our community into the future.

Striving to make our community better.
