The official opening of Charlestown Service Station will take place on Saturday, 18th February between 2 – 5pm. With an exciting line-up of entertainment planned for the day, the official launch celebrations promises to entertain the whole family.
Minister of State for Regional and Economic Development, Michael Ring will officially open the service station. Also, joining Minister Ring for the official opening celebrations are a number of well-known faces. One such face is that of Fair City actor Ryan Andrews, who plays Sean Cassidy in the popular RTÈ soap opera. Also, sporting fans will be thrilled to learn that players from the Mayo football team will be joining in the celebrations. In addition, local politicians and other dignitaries will turn out to support Supermac’s Managing Directors, Pat and Una McDonagh as they add Charlestown Service Station to their commendable list of business ventures.
Whilst Minister Ring will cut the ribbon and declare Charlestown Services Station officially opened, there will be on-going entertainment taking place throughout the day. Face painters, stilt walkers and cartoon characters will be on hand to keep the little ones entertained. Whilst, Midwest Radio will broadcast from outside the service station with plenty of prize giveaways up for grabs on the day.
Since its opening in November 2016, the service station has generated 30 new jobs in the local economy. Charlestown Service Station is conveniently situated on the N17 just off the N5 and comprises of a Topaz Fuel Station, a Spar Convenience Shop as well as a food court with a vast variety of food offerings which include Supermac’s, Papa John’s Pizza, SuperSubs, a delicatessen and a Bewley’s Coffee dock. The service station has ample parking to cater for buses, trucks and cars.
