CBD Complex opens its doors

The CBD Sports Complex at Lowpark, Charlestown, has opened its doors to the general public and they are looking forward to welcoming back all clubs and members once again with a plan for bigger and better facilities.

A steering committee has been put in place to run the facility and they are brimming with ideas as they look to update and improve on what’s available to the general public in the coming weeks and months. There will be more clarity on this in the intervening weeks but the steering committee is comprised of good people all of whom have a deep interest in securing the future of the facility which remains one of the jewels in the crown of the town’s infrastructure and has so much to offer to all strands of society.

The building needs some investment with the committee keenly aware that an upgrade is needed to improve and enhance what’s there already to broaden its appeal and attract a whole new membership across the threshold. For the moment, the fact that the doors are opened again is the best possible news for all the stakeholders and users who look forward to resuming the many activities the facility can offer them as the long winter days and nights get ready to descend.
