The annual Charlestown 10K is back for the eighth year and is being co-held by the CBD Sports Complex in association with the newly-established local East Mayo Athletics Club CLG.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, there will only be the one distance this year. The course is flat and fast and this is a great opportunity to stretch the legs and get a competitive run in over a nice, tidy distance. There is ample parking in the grounds of Fr O’Hara Park and the CBD Sports Complex with the race starting 400 metres down the road outside St Attracta’s National School.

Athletes will meet at St Attracta’s where there will be plenty of space and social distancing in evidence. Unfortunately, there will be no showers or refreshments available after the race this year in line with the strict guidelines laid down by Nphet. There will be a bottled water station at the 5K mark and at the finish line.

The Virtual Charlestown 10K option is also available for those who cannot be in attendance on the day but would still like to support. Simply register online and then share evidence of your completed run on the Facebook page with the hashtag #justranthecharlestown10k. Please register on http://www.popupraces.ie.
