Age Action Ireland is a charity which is focused on the well-being and social inclusion of the elderly in society. The vision of this charity is that ‘Ireland becomes the best country in the world to grow older.’ An improvement in quality of life for the elderly coupled with a positive attitude towards this valuable generation can lead to such a vision being realised.
Age Action Ireland are running classes for older learners (aged 55+) who have little or no experience with using the internet and who are apprehensive of technology. If you have a laptop/iPad/tablet/smartphone and want to find out how to master the internet through the use of these devices, then this course maybe something of interest. Even if you do not own such a device but have an interest in developing your knowledge, a device can be provided for learning purposes.
Classes are run in Swinford Library, on Wednesday mornings, from 10:00am-12:00 noon. Participants are taught on an individual basis by trained volunteer tutors. Each course cycle runs for 5 weeks.
