The Annual Eugene McLoughlin Memorial Run was a huge success and brought great excitement to the town.
In the region of €8000 was raised for Croí, which will buy a new defibrillator for Charlestown.
Year on year, interest in the event has grown. This year’s run attracted people from near and far.
A large crowd gathered to watch over 200 tractors, vintage cars and bikes take part in the run that is becoming increasingly popular.
There was a great sense of pride amongst the organisers and also within those who had taken the time to enter their vehicles into the run.
There was a number of awards up for grabs on the day.
The award for best turned out car went to Martin Gibson of Charlestown. Ballaghaderreen’s Stephen Cafferty had the best turned out tractor and Maura McGettrick from Ballymote had the best turned out bike. Jimmy McDermott from Enniskillen won the overall award for best turned out vehicle.
Well done to all those involved.
